Kubernein Initiative is pleased to be a knowledge partner for Tabreed, a global leader in district cooling solutions. As temperatures rise and our cities face various demands, sustainable cooling that integrates a more efficient water and energy cycle is an important way forward.
In a significant step towards addressing India’s urban cooling challenges, the consortium of partners successfully hosted the first of a series of Regional Workshops in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, on 28 June, titled, ‘Cooling India’s Cities’. Priyanka Bhide moderated a session on the State’s Ecosystem for Cooling, and which saw a convergence of key stakeholders, government and experts from the energy and cooling sectors, discussing strategies to integrate district cooling and energy solutions into Tamil Nadu’s urban planning. Speakers included Mr Sudheer Perla, Tabreed India; Nitin Jain, GIZ GmbH; Rahul Agnihotri, UNEP; and representatives from the Tamil Nadu State Planning Commission, DISCOMs, Developers, Consultants, Architects, Media, Academics and others.
