Sustainable India 2024 is a continuation from the Sustainable India 2023 Report. The report showcases interviews, articles, VIEWS (photo essays) on challenges and solutions in India’s journey of sustainability, around REVOLVE’s core themes of Water, Energy, Circularity, Ecosystems and Mobility. This year we also have some key facts, govt policies, challenges and opportunities under each theme, as well as a spotlight on successful sustainability initiatives within some cities.Our contributors include experts and practitioners in the field, civil society organizations, businesses working in environment and sustainability, and government and policymakers.
The 2024 report was launched at the “Climate Talk” event hosted by the German Embassy on January 30th 2025 in Mumbai. The theme for the event was “Cities of the Future”, and discussions focused on the impact of climate change on cities as well as their role as drivers of sustainable development. Panelists included Mr Shankar Deshpande, Chief, Town and Country Planning Division, Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA), Ms. Pritika Hingorani, CEO India, Artha Global; Mr. Abhijit Ghorpade, Director, State Climate Action Cell, Department of Environment and Climate Change, Government of Maharashtra; Ms. Neha Awasthi, Senior Manager Mobility, C40 Cities and Ms. Swati Khanna, Senior Sector Specialist – Urban Development and Mobility, KFW Development Bank. Moderated by Priyanka Bhide, Co-Founder and Director, Kubernein Initiative.
