Feminist Perspectives in International Relations, Security & Diplomacy

Kubernein Initiative in collaboration with the Department of Geopolitics and International Relations (DGIR), MISHA at MAHE

Organized by the Department of Geopolitics and International Relations (DGIR) and the Manipal Institute of Social Sciences, Humanities and Arts (MISHA) at Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), in collaboration with the Kubernein Initiative, this virtual panel discussion explores Feminist Perspectives in International Relations, Security, and Diplomacy. The session will critically examine how gendered power dynamics shape global peace and security, and how feminist approaches challenge traditional, state-centric and militarized paradigms. Drawing on insights from scholars, practitioners, and policy experts, the panel will highlight how feminist frameworks – grounded in intersectionality and human security – offer inclusive alternatives for diplomacy and foreign policy. It will also emphasize the importance of integrating these approaches within mainstream international relations, while encouraging reflection on whose voices and experiences are centered in global governance.

Keynote Address by H. E. Mr. Adolfo García Estrada, Consul General of Mexico in Mumbai
